Hi everybody,

First of all I wish you all a very happy and a prosperous new year.

It has been more than a month that we have been through the tragedy and agression of 26/11. The other day I was speaking to one of my colleagues at my workplace, his name is Feroz. I had informed him about the peace march and the social activities we intend to engage in. He has always been supportive. But with little skepticism he asked me a question.

Sachin, kya woh jazba aaj bhi zinda hain?

With all the confidence and zeal I answered.

Haan Feroz woh jazba aaj bhi zinda hai!

His question was not irrelevant. After the rally we had a wonderful brainstorming session. We have to gather the thoughts in a more organised way and we have to make sure that we read each others thoughts.

Whatever happened during 26/11 was shocking. Whaterver happened after that was even more shocking. Our martyer were humiliated. Political blame game has started even for the life insurance policies of the martyers. The focus is more on politicising the issue than on help.

On the eve of 1st January Assam saw a blast. As I write this e mail our brave jawaans are fighting with militants in J&K. We learnt about a baby of three months who was hit by a bullet and who lost her father in the attack. Her mother is helpless, she is an illiterate lady from a village. We learnt about a shahid constables daughter who wants to persue her MBA.

On the eve of 28th December I spoke to another freind, his name Manish.

He said everybody has been talking about Mumbai but what about jawaans who have been dying in J&K. What about what happened in Orrissa. He was right too. We have to think and start gathering and sharing our thoughts.

Though 26/11 was a tragic event, the fact is, it has united us. It made us act and it made us act in the most spontaneous and the passionate way. The passion has to be kept alive. That 'jazbaa' has to be there. We must contribute. In whatever little way we can. Yes we agree we have got limitations.

Two blogs have been created for this thoght sharing. Their URLs are as follows.

There are no comments posted there lets take the initiative and put our thoughts down. We will never tolerate anybody humiliating any martyer, yes we are snsitive towards the people in our country who need our help and we certainly do not want to see another 26/11.

Regards

Sachin Aphale
